MMG Limited is pleased to announce that effective today Suresh Vadnagra has assumed the role of General Manager LXML Sepon taking over from Rick Watsford who has accepted an advisory role within MMG’s operations team in Melbourne, Australia.
Mr Watsford has made an outstanding contribution at Sepon where his leadership saw significant safety improvements, record production results and excellent cost management.
Mr Watsford is also recognised for his commitment to increasing and enhancing the capability of Lao leadership and improving the livelihoods of the communities around the mine.
Mr Vadnagra assumes the role of General Manager LXML Sepon following a 12-month secondment to Las Bambas as General Manager – Integration.
Mr Vadnagra joined MMG in October 2011 as General Manager Operational Excellence and is recognised for his significant contributions to improving asset performance and operational outcomes across MMG sites.
“I’m very excited to take up the role of General Manager LXML Sepon and will be looking for opportunities to continue to deliver value out of this quality asset,” said Mr Vadnagra.
“Mr Watsford has done an excellent job to deliver consistent production results. I hope to build on the work to date including a continued focus on building the capacity of our employees and local communities,” he said.
Mr Vadnagra is a qualified Mechanical Engineer and has completed a number of postgraduate qualifications.
He has significant experience in the resources industry including oil and gas, and to date, has enjoyed a wide variety of operational roles in engineering, production, mining and operational management.
Mr Vadnagra has relocated from Melbourne to Vientiane, Laos with his wife and daughter.
