MMG LXML Sepon donated anaesthesia apparatus to Savannakhet Hospital on 22 May 2014.  This assistance builds on the company’s ongoing support providing equipment to the hospital.

On behalf of LXML, I am very proud to provide further support to Savannakhet Hospital to assist in responding to the health needs of the population.  Many LXML employees live in Savannakhet Province, and this once again demonstrates our strong commitment to improve capacity in an important medical hub,” said Mr Saman Aneka, Director and Stakeholder Relations Manager.

We are extremely grateful to LXML for this generous and timely support. This equipment will save lives and make a great difference to families who need help,” said Dr Bounnak Kulavongsa, Deputy Director of Savannakhet Hospital.

LXML also supports child and maternal health through the ‘1000 Day Project’ in a unique partnership with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF.  MMG has contributed US$1.4 million for the Ministry to support child nutrition programs in Savannakhet, Saravan, and Attapeu provinces.

LXML has also provided equipment and ongoing support to Vilabouly District Hospital, including building a new ward.  LXML has provided support to maternal and child health projects through the Lao Women’s Union and Macfarlane Burnet Institute since the mine commenced operations.
