MMG Rosebery has opened applications for its 2026 graduate program, to kickstart a career in the Tasmanian mining industry.
MMG Rosebery is offering four roles; Geologist, Surveyor, Electrical Reliability Engineer and Environmental Engineer.
Kevin Jin was completing his Master’s in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Tasmania when there was an opportunity to join the MMG Vacation Program.
That led to the now 28-year-old accepting a role in the 2022 graduate program and moving to Rosebery.
“I first heard about MMG at an AusIMM Tasmania event in Hobart, while I was pursuing my Master’s degree. The talk from industry professionals is what inspired me to join the industry.” he said.
“The graduate program has been more than a career opportunity. It’s been a chance to learn new skills, undertake training and contribute to my team and the site more broadly.
“The guidance and mentoring I received from my team and colleagues across site has been invaluable and helped shape my career and my passion for mining.”
Kevin said living in Rosebery was a great experience.
“Rosebery is a beautiful town to live in. It is surrounded by mountains, walking tracks and local wilderness that I enjoyed exploring.
Kevin now balances his time between working onsite and from MMG’s Burnie office.
MMG Rosebery General Manger Steve Scott said the culture at Rosebery Mine makes it a great place to start a career in mining.
“We have an exciting future ahead of us at Rosebery Mine. This is an opportunity for skilled professionals to join our team, be provided with hands on experience, a great working environment and reach their full potential,” he said.
