MMG supports the Queensland flood relief

MMG today announced that it has made a contribution of A$80,000 to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Relief to assist the communities affected by the widespread flooding in Queensland.

The torrential downpours have affected more than 200,000 Queenslanders with thousands made homeless.

CEO Andrew Michelmore said that MMG wanted to show its support for recovery from such an unfortunate event.

“These floods have certainly been devastating for many people living in Queensland and we understand that it is going to take some time for communities to rebuild.

“As the operator of the Century mine in North West Queensland, we have a strong connection and commitment to the State of Queensland.

“As a member of the Queensland community we would like to offer some assistance by making a contribution of A$80,000 to the Premier’s Relief Fund.

“We realise that nothing can undo the damage caused, but we hope to offer some relief during this difficult time.

“Our thoughts go out to those impacted by this disaster and we hope for a speedy return to normality for the individuals, families and businesses across Queensland having to re-establish themselves,” he said.
