MMG LXML Sepon, the gold and copper mine, has provided 80 million Kip (approximately US$10,000) to assist in repairing damage in Savannakhet town, following a severe storm on 22 March.

Although there were no reports of injuries or deaths, the storm damaged hundreds of houses and buildings, including the airport.

Authorities in Savannakhet have repaired infrastructure to ensure communications and power can reach residents in the affected area.

“MMG is committed to sharing the benefits of our operations, which includes supporting communities affected by storms or flooding,” said Saman Aneka, Director of MMG LXML Sepon.

The company also provides direct assistance to local communities through community development activities and the Sepon Development Trust Fund.
