MMG releases 2015 Sustainability Report

MMG Limited (MMG) is pleased to release its seventh annual Sustainability Report, covering the company’s performance for the year ended 31 December 2015 and progress towards its sustainability goals.

Chief Executive Officer Andrew Michelmore said that sustainability at MMG involved ongoing commitment to communities, stakeholders, the environment, health and safety and the economic performance of the business.

“Thanks to the disciplined efforts of employees across our operations, we made significant headway towards our three year sustainability targets. This led to improvements in performance and efficiency at our sites including improved performance in the total recordable injury frequency and better targeted community social investments,” he said.

The 2015 report was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative’s 2013 ‘Core’ Sustainability Reporting Guidelines (G4) and the Mining and Metals Sector Disclosure Guidelines.

“Despite the challenges which currently exist in the global economy, mining is a long-term business. This applies to both our belief in the long-term fundamentals of our key commodities and our belief that we mine for progress,” he added.
